The New Mexico Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners highly recommends its licensure applicants to use the Federation Credentials Verification Service for licensure.
Kentucky board requires FCVS
The Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure becomes the 11th board to require its applicants to exclusively use the Federation Credentials Verification Service for licensure.
State Board and Hospital/Institution Search for Established Physicians
State Boards and Hospitals/Institutions can now access the FCVS database to search for physicians that have an established profile. Previously established credentials can expedite the licensure or privileging process.
Fee Increase for LMCC Transcripts
As of December 1, 2004, the fee for an LMCC transcript will be $85 USD. This increase is due to the MCC recently increasing the US dollar equivalent of its fees due to the recent increase in the value of the Canadian dollar.
District of Columbia Board of Medicine Now Accepts FCVS
As of October 7, 2004, the District of Columbia's board agreed to accept the FCVS profile for physician licensure applicants.
USMLE Step 3 Applicants Can Simultaneously Apply for Credentials Verification
The Federation Credentials Verification Service offers a new service to USMLE candidates who complete their Step 3 application online. As a convenience to examinees, information entered on their Step 3 online application can be used to begin a personalized FCVS Physician Information Profile that contains their primary-source verified credentials.

Florida Board of Osteopathic Medicine Now Accepts FCVS
As of February 20, 2004, Florida's osteopathic board agreed to accept the FCVS profile for physician licensure applicants. The Board recommends that all applicants utilize FCVS to fulfil the credentialing requirements for licensure.
South Dakota State Board of Osteopathic Examiners Now Accepts FCVS
As of April 8, 2004, the South Dakota board will accept the FCVS physician credentials profiles for physician licensure applicants.
Paper Application Surcharge
Effective June 1, 2004, physicians submitting an initial application through the mail rather completing the application online; will be assessed a $25 surcharge. This is due to the increased cost associated with the handling of a paper application.
FCVS Initial Physician Application Available Online
Physicians submitting their first application to FCVS can now complete and submit their application online. Physician using this application method may also pay with their credit card. Click here to begin the application process.
