FEDERATION OF STATE MEDICAL BOARDS (FSMB)
The Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) plays an important role in protecting the public from the unprofessional, improper, unlawful, fraudulent and/or incompetent practice of medicine.
As the voice of state and territorial medical licensing and credentialing boards, FSMB offers a variety of services and resources for the public that ensure their safety as they seek out medical care. The FSMB keeps an extensive, publicly available database that includes the professional qualifications of physicians and physician assistants licensed in the United States, as well as any disciplinary actions taken against them. It provides special disciplinary alerts about physician disciplinary actions for state medical boards and offers an easy-to-use physician-information service, called DocInfo, for patients and families.
