International Association of Medical Regulatory Authorities (IAMRA)
The International Association of Medical Regulatory Authorities (IAMRA) is a membership organization whose purpose is to support medical regulatory authorities worldwide in protecting the public interest by promoting high standards for physician education, licensure and regulation, and facilitating the ongoing exchange of information among medical regulatory authorities. Additionally, IAMRA seeks to provide a forum for the development of new concepts and approaches in medical regulation and to support regulatory authorities in protecting the public.
IAMRA was formally established in 2002 with eight founding members, including the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB), and currently has a membership of 74 organizations in 29 countries. The FSMB acts as secretariat for IAMRA, providing support services for the corporation.
