FEDERATION PHYSICIAN DATA CENTER (FPDC)
The FSMB was the first organization to publish and distribute the names of the nation's disciplined physicians. That information is now disseminated electronically via the Federation Physician Data Center (FPDC), a repository of board action and licensure data on U.S. physicians that contains thousands of disciplinary actions against physicians dating to the 1960s. The FPDC receives regular updates from medical and osteopathic boards when they take disciplinary actions. It keeps the public informed of vital information through its DocInfo database at www.docinfo.org.
Medical Board and Credentials Services
The Board Action Data Bank Search consists of a query identifying actions reported on specific individuals. A data bank search can provide:
- Summary of actions in FSMB's Board Action Data Bank.
- Historical view of disciplinary actions taken by FSMB's reporting entities.
The Disciplinary Alert Service enables medical and osteopathic boards to quickly identify disciplined physicians who relocate to another jurisdiction without detection. A similar service advises hospitals and managed care organizations when one of their physicians has been disciplined.
Public Services
The FSMB Physician Profile is a publicly available report from its comprehensive, nationally consolidated data bank of licensed U.S. physicians that provides site visitors with information on the professional qualifications of physicians and physician assistants licensed in the United States. The profile includes information on disciplinary sanctions, education, medical specialty, licensure history and locations.
The public can access information about a physician from www.docinfo.org for a nominal fee.
