USMLE STEP 3 EXAM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Iowa

Post Graduate Training US and Canadian Candidates	Must have completed seven months (or currently enrolled) in ACGME, AOA, RCPSC or CFPC approved program.
Post Graduate Training International Candidates	Must have completed seven months (or currently enrolled) in ACGME, AOA, RCPSC or CFPC approved program.
Attempt Limit	Successful completion of a progressive three year resident training program is required if the applicant passes the examination after more than six attempts on Step 1 or six attempts combined on Step 2CK and Step 2CS or three attempts on Step 3
Time Limit	Must complete USMLE Steps 1, 2 and 3 within ten (10) years of passing first exam.
Application for Licensure required to apply for Step 3	No

Eligibility Requirements/Cancellation Policy
If it is determined that you do not meet eligibility requirements at the time your application is received, or you decide to cancel your registration prior to approval, or your application is not complete by the published deadline date, your registration will be cancelled and a portion of the application fee withheld. The USMLE Step 3 fee is non-refundable and non-transferable from one eligibility period to another or from one application to another.
