USMLE STEP 3 EXAM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Vermont

Post Graduate Training US and Canadian Candidates	Must have completed seven (7) months of post-graduate training in a program accredited by the ACGME, the Residency Review Committee (RRC) of the ACGME, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), or the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) before submitting an application.
Post Graduate Training International Candidates	Must have completed seven (7) months of post-graduate training in a program accredited by the ACGME, the Residency Review Committee (RRC) of the ACGME, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), or the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) before submitting an application.
Attempt Limit	No attempt limit on Step 1, Step 2CK or Step 2CS. Three (3) attempt limit on Step 3.
Time Limit	Must complete Steps 1, 2, and 3 within seven (7) years of taking Step 1 for the first time.
Application for Licensure required to apply for Step 3	No

Eligibility Requirements/Cancellation Policy
If it is determined that you do not meet eligibility requirements at the time your application is received, or you decide to cancel your registration prior to approval, or your application is not complete by the published deadline date, your registration will be cancelled and a portion of the application fee withheld. The USMLE Step 3 fee is non-refundable and non-transferable from one eligibility period to another or from one application to another.
